With Music along the way...
MY STORY BEHIND THE VOICE
I was born in Buckinghamshire and I now live in Cheshire, in the heart of England's countryside. Peaceful conditions for recording... well, the occasional neigh from the horses out the back!
When I was three I learnt very quickly to operate a tape recorder and my brother and I would spend hours making up radio plays and recording them. I continued my passion for this art form by attending The Joan Barnes Theatre School where I took all my LAMDA exams and performed in many plays. Then after gaining a BA (hons) degree in Music, Drama, Film and Television I furthered my training at drama school, Drama Studio London, after which I spent eleven happy years working as an actor/ musician travelling all over the UK to no.1 theatres and working in the West End. My acting career has had me dressing up as rabbits and weasels playing the violin, cats and a dancing trombone in yellow Lycra also playing the violin and the trombone! It's been hilarious fun.
Whilst in London, I travelled to Soho and recorded my first voice over. It was for The Iron Bed Company. They must have had bugs in their beds because I caught the voiceover bug then and I went on to train with lovely people for everything to do with voiceovers at Gravy for the Brain!
When I'm not at work in my studio, I'll be outside in the country with my dog, getting muddy. I also might be playing my violin with my professional string quartet. You can find us at www.quartetcabaret.co.uk We might be giving a recital in the local care home or playing at weddings.
Most importantly, I am passionate about bringing the written word to life, painting pictures for you through my vocal work and acting ability and I would be delighted to record something amazing for you in my purpose built professional home recording studio.
