A Few Tips when Hiring a Voice Artist

Here are a few steps you might consider when hiring a voice over artist:

1. Define your requirements: Determine the specific needs of your project. Consider factors such as the type of voice, gender, age, accent, and language proficiency required.  I am able to deliver a variety of reads and therefore can send you free samples so that you can find the perfect one.
2. Research other voice over artists: Look for voice over artists online through platforms such as Voice123, bodalgo, Fiverr or Mandy.  Browse their portfolios, listen to their demos, and read client reviews to assess their suitability for your project.  You will likely find my profiles on these websites and therefore I can easily be contacted, however, you will certainly get the best value for money if you contact me directly through my website. Other websites charge and take a percentage of the money so it is always best to contact your chosen voice artist directly.
3. Shortlist potential candidates: Create a shortlist of voice over artists whose style and abilities align with your project's requirements. Consider their experience, versatility, and ability to take direction.  
4. Contact the artists: Reach out to the selected candidates and provide them with the necessary project details such as script length, project duration, audience demographics, and deadline. Request a quote for their services.  I am very friendly and will be more than happy to give you a quote for your project.
5. Review auditions or demos: Ask the shortlisted candidates to provide auditions or demos based on a portion of your script. Evaluate their performances, considering factors like vocal quality, clarity, tone, and their ability to convey emotion or authority.
6. Negotiate rates and terms: Once you have identified a voice over artist whose work and pricing align with your needs, discuss rates, licensing, revisions policy, and other project-specific details. Ensure all parties are clear on deliverables and timelines.
7. Finalize the agreement: Reach a mutual understanding with the chosen voice over artist regarding project scope, deadlines, payment terms, and any additional requirements. It may involve signing a contract or agreement.
8. Provide the script: Share the finalized script, pronunciation guidelines, and any specific instructions for the voice over artist.
9. Collaborate during the recording process: Remain available for communication during the recording process to address any questions or provide feedback. This helps ensure that the artist delivers the desired performance.  I am always open to suggestions and ideas and love to collaborate.  This can easily be arranged by meeting up on Zoom.
10. Evaluate and receive the final recording: Once the artist completes the recording, review the final project for quality and accuracy. Discuss any necessary revisions, if applicable, and then finalize the payment.  Having agreed upon a final price, I will then send you an invoice payable within 30 days.
